About HowLongTimer
HowLongTimer shows exactly how long until any time of day, to the second, in your local time. It's free, has no ads and needs no sign-up.
What it does
Pick a time and the countdown shows the hours, minutes and seconds until it next happens on your clock. Common times have their own page, like How Long Until 4 PM, and the full list is on the home page.
How it's calculated
The time left is recalculated every second from your device's clock and time zone. It never counts down from a stored number, so it doesn't drift, even after the tab sits in the background.
If the time has already passed today, the countdown moves to tomorrow. Across midnight and on the days clocks change for daylight saving time, it measures real elapsed time, so the hour gained or lost is counted.
The countdown is only as accurate as your device's clock. Phones and computers usually set theirs automatically from the network.
Privacy
No accounts, no cookies and no analytics. The countdown runs on your device and never sends your time zone or location anywhere. Details are in the privacy policy.
